Xsyon is a pay to play MMORPG set on a post-apocalyptic planet Earth, war has torn apart the foundations of existence, forcing people to return to a way of life not seen on Earth for thousands of years. The game has a features list that has enough information to send even hardcore MMO players weak at the knees.

The game world itself is based upon official information gathered from a US Geological Survey, making the terrain, layout and design of the game world highly realistic. The current area consists of over 120 square kilometers, which is said to expand to over 1200 as they release more expansions. The world is free to explore, with little-to-no limitations until you reach the very end of the map, where you will meet an impenetrable green mist that prohibits further exploration.

The character progression system is also quite a breath of fresh air, avoiding the typical MMORPG approach, Xyson doesn't force players into restricted class roles or set-in-stone attribute points. Instead players are able to distribute their stat points however they please, and to improve a skill, you simply have to use it. A skill that is used regularly will progress quickly, where as a skill that is hardly used will actually degenerate over time. This makes it difficult to master everything but makes it easier to be able to master a particular aspect. Players aren't forced into combat roles, you can be a noble warrior, a lonely explorer, a farmer, or even the mayor of a town, the limit is your imagination.

Players also have total control over the ground they walk on, Xyson includes a terraforming engine that allows players to change the height of terrain, alter the flow of rivers and lakes, and even construct roads to other tribes. Get enough people and you can construct your own village, where you choose and how you choose. This complete freedom is easily the most appealing aspect to Xyson.
