Scarlet Legacy is the latest free to play MMORPG from Games Campus, scheduled to launch in closed beta (CBT) in the start of August. Critics in China have already praised Scarlet Legacy as the next big MMORPG, with over 100,000 users registered for CBT and even more waiting for the doors to open.

Scarlet Legacy is an action MMORPG with a heavy focus on martial arts and other Eastern traditions. As well as all the usual goodies associated with a free to play MMORPG, Scarlet Legacy boasts a unique character creation system and combat engine. Unlike other games, players are free to switch classes whenever they please, allowing for unique cross class ability combinations that creates a fast paced action experience.

The game will feature 4 playable classes from the start of CBT, including:

- Warrior, heavy armor, tanking class.
- Assassin, main melee DPS (Damage per second) class, currently the only class that is able to duel wield weapons.
- Monk, able to switch between the ability to deal damage or heal and buff allies.
- Mystic, the magic damage class, they use unique musical instruments that can allow them to both devastate enemies and aid allies.

Although given new labels, the classes are mirrors of the typical MMORPG archetypes but the ability to switch freely between them, linking various abilities, really adds to the depth of the combat system.

Scarlet Legacy will also feature a large array of mounts including rare and exotic animals such as Tigers and Elephants as well as more comical mounts like a burning backside or being carried around on a stick by two tribesmen.

The game is currently unavailable to play in EU/US but Closed Beta begins August 5th and applications are currently open to apply. Although no official release date has been given yet, GM's have stated they expect the CBT even to last about a week, which would suggest the game will be ready for release within the next month or two.
