Lord of Ultima is a free to play MMORTS title developed by the popular EA branch of Phenomic. The game is available totally free to play and can be played in any web browser. Although there are a large amount of browser strategy games on today's market, Lord of Ultima stands way above the rest in terms of graphics. The game looks great, and is a lot more real than other strategy titles. The world map isn't filled with 1000s of settlements all thrown in together, each and every city has a nice surrounding area for exploration and resources.

The building system also offers a lot of freedom, players are not forced to place certain buildings in specific locations. They can also queue a lot of buildings for construction, without having to buy overpriced items from the item mall. Each building costs resources to construct but they also offer benefits in return, such as gathering resources, training troops, and storing goods. The user-interface is also designed to be easy to use, players can access almost any aspect of their kingdom in a simple click, no need to go searching through multiple menus or clicking twenty links.

Lord of Ultima also includes a very simple questing system that rewards players with both resources and experience points. You don't need to collect or initiate a quest and you're able to complete quests you don't have access to. This allows players to build and train units as they wish, and still be rewarded for it somewhere down the line.

The game world is divided up into 3 sections, City, Region and World. The City map consists of your personal City and buildings, while regional gives you access to trade with other players and NPC locations to invade. The World map shows you the locations of all the strongholds and guilds.
