EA Announce Upcoming Closure Of FIFA World, Need For Speed World & Battlefield Heroes
Electronic Arts today announced plans to close several of the studios free-to-play titles as the multi-million selling studio reveals the forthcoming closure of Battlefield Heroes, FIFA World, Battlefield Play4Free and Need for Speed World. The announcement was made earlier today and will see the games supported for the next 3 months before the complete and final closure of each of the titles at the end of the 90 day period. No new registrations are being accepted at this time and the option to purchase premium funds has been removed. Those with outstanding balances in any of the aforementioned games would be wise to waste them while they can as the developers did announce that they would not be offering refunds for past purchases. With the closing of these 4 games, EA's free-to-play repertoire is reduced to just two games, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances.
