Inspired by European Mythology, Forsaken World is a free to play fantasy MMORPG developed by Perfect World Entertainment, the same company behind the Perfect World MMORPG. Forsaken World is probably the game with the highest production value from the Perfect World Entertainment portfolio.

Through a highly detailed character creation screen, Forsaken World offers five playable races (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Stoneman, and Kindred) and eight classes to choose from (Warrior, Mage, Priest, Protector, Assassin, Bard, Marksman, and Vampire). While many of these classes can be considered traditional archetypes, there are some such as the Vampire which are interesting game-unique hybrids.

Especially designed for a western audience, Forsaken World channels character development through a series of story supported quests. Some of them come with special in-game cutscenes and narrative moments, perfectly blending them into the background story. Forsaken World offers highly detailed and extremely polished stand-alone features such as the crafting system or the pet system. Instanced dungeons aren’t in short supply and there are also several world bosses that in order to be slain require a large group of coordinating players.

One of the most exciting aspects of Forsaken World is the Arena system. Using a unique dungeon style layout players are challenged by waves upon waves of tough monsters and difficult boss fights, with each battle being harder than the last. This unique battle system offers players progressive difficulty and progressive rewards, creating a vast number of players with the sole purpose of getting the skills and abilities that will finally allow them to complete the final, and most difficult stage of the arena combat.

Many aspects of the game seem borrowed from other popular subscription based MMORPGs, such as AION or World of Warcraft, but all of them have been nicely imported and blended into the Forsaken World universe.
