Eligium is a free to play MMORPG from popular publishers, Shanda Games. The game has a dark theme, stepping away from the typical pretty flora and fauna of the regular MMORPG game, instead featuring a world torn apart with evil lurking around every corner.

Eligium includes many of the typical MMORPG features including multiple races and class options, as well as a progressive skill tree, allowing players to further customize the abilities and skills of their character.

The game also features a comprehensive Mount system which allows players to find and nurture their own monsters to use as Mounts. Players can discover Mounts as Eggs, either from traveling or purchased from other players. Once players have an egg they must take the time to hatch it so it can reach the next stage of evolution. the larval form. Players are unable to ride monsters in a larval form but they can still provide your character with various stat buffs. This is the most important stage of a mounts life, players must be sure to feed the mount and give it plenty of attention. There are dozens of variables that effect the final outcome of your mount, some will increase its stats, others will give it rare and powerful abilities.

Players can also expect an intense PvP combat orientated environment. As well as the typical duels and PvP zones, players will also be able to participate in large-scale PvP combat such as Guild vs Guild.

The game will be free to play at launch and will begin the closed beta period February 15th 2012. They have announced that micro-transactions will be included, giving players the option of purchasing items, weapons and mounts with real cash.
