Drakensang Online is a new MMORPG from developers BigPoint, in the hopes of attracting gamers to a new type of free to play browser game, BigPoint have equipped Drakensang Online with all of the little bits and pieces that forged the success of older dungeon crawler titles.

Drakensang is adorned with features from games like Runescape and Diablo, taking pointers from both titles and giving the genre a whole new effect. The graphics are easily some of the best art you'll find in a free to play browser title and the simple pick up and play approach adds a lot of value to the game play. You can jump straight in to quests and combat, even from the start you can comfortably take down 6-7 enemies at once, creating a more intense fighting system than other browser games. Loot is the aim of the game in Drakensang Online, as you progress you will loot through enemy corpses, chests, barrels etc and discover gold and new items at every turn. The standard 4 tier item system is in place which delivers almost instant answers when comparing to current gear.

Andermant is the real currency used in the micro transaction system but BigPoint took a new approach and allowed players to be able to gather this resource in game via rare monster drops, this means that a lot of the premium store content can be earned through game time, a very popular choice with free 2 play gamers.

Another interesting aspect of Drakensang Online is the auto equip function, usually you wouldn't associate such a feature with this genre of game but it does prove useful. If you collect a piece of armor or a weapon, any previously empty slot will automatically be filled and if the item is undoubtedly better than your current equipment, it will switch, this saves for a lot of time in a game with such a heavy focus on looting.
