To the shock of many Carbine Studios and NCSoft have recently unveiled the financial model for their upcoming action MMORPG game, WildStar. The upcoming MMO will utilize the typical pay-to-play subscription model with fans having to purchase the box version for $59.99 before investing $14.99 per month in subscription costs. It's disappointing for those that were hoping for a more free-to-play experience, but it's not all bad news.
The developers also revealed an exciting aspect that's similar to that of the one used in EVE Online. The game time can be both purchased and sold through the in-game client, so even players that cannot afford to purchase a $14.99 per month subscription can still afford to play if they're able to grind out enough gold in-game.
