The Crew Suffers Traditional MMO Launch, Console Players Not So Understanding
Following the barrage of criticism Ubisoft suffered after the technically unsound launch of Assassin's Creed Unity, many hoped for a much smoother launch for The Crew, although that has not been the case. The Crew launched yesterday in several waves as early adopters and digital purchases got the opportunity to enter the game prior to its availability in brick and mortar stores, but even spreading the population hasn't helped. The servers have proved somewhat unprepared for the masses as players reported unusual lag spikes, unexpected downtime and the inability to connect with other players. Several other problems also occurred, seeing players unable to join or form Crews at all – the foundations of the games social element. A patch was quickly released to fix the latter but the base of the server problems still persist and with it, continue to barrage the reputation of Ubisoft. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days.Leave a comment
