Today’s free to play MMO market is a fickle place to be, free to play titles drop like flies and even AAA titles are being forced to turn to alternate subscription options in order to keep afloat. However, it’s not all doom and gloom as yesterday marked the 5 year anniversary for the popular MMORPG, Rappelz. It’s not something unheard of, many titles offer players rewards and special events for anniversaries but gPotato takes it one step further with a celebration spanning over 2 months.

The most notable feature of the event is the insane experience boost of 55%, allowing players to level at a pace unheard of in Rappelz history. GM’s have also promised a number of in-game events although details are hard to come by at the moment. Another feature for the anniversary celebrations is the pet competition, players are asked to submit a video of them and their pet for the chance to win some top prizes including 5,000 gPotato points and a number of Astro PC goodies like a gaming headset and keyboard.

The event will run through to November 2nd, the original release date of Rappelz.
