GamesCampus, popular publishers of free-to-play MMORPG games online, have just announced the official starting date for Ecol Tactics Online closed beta. The first browser-based MMO to join GamesCampus' arsenal of titles is a turn-based strategy game that borrows elements from popular turn-based titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics.
The official closed beta will begin on March 7th, allowing a select group of players to experience the thrill of turn-based combat before anyone else. Closed beta keys will be available from multiple media sources on February 28th. Interested players can also sign up on the official website for their chance to grab a key.
"We are excited to get to the stage where our growing community can finally play the game-they have been waiting to find out when they could finally jump in and test it out," said Elliott Coward, Project Lead for Ecol Tactics Online. "Ecol Tactics takes the browser-based MMO to a whole new level with a breadth and depth players aren't use to seeing in easy to jump into browser games. We're confident our players will be very happy with the experience when they login March 7th."
Ecol Tactics Online boasts an intriguing storyline and a huge amount of character customization, two features not usually associated with browser-based gaming. We've seen games like this before but more often than not they're ruined by stamina cool-downs and other time consuming delays, but GamesCampus have said they will not restrict players from enjoying the game.
