Bioware Confirms The Old Republic Release Date

Arguably one of the most highly anticipated MMO launches of recent years, Star Wars: The Old Republic is already set to be massive after smashing EA’s previous pre-order records and dominating practically every MMO dedicated site on the internet. The beta has been ongoing for a while now and having recently sent out invites for the next testing phase, developers Bioware have finally confirmed the release date.

Barring any catastrophic coding or server problems, the game will launch December 20th, 2011. Players were originally told to expect a 2012 release so the announcement of launching at the end of 2011 was greeted with open arms. Although no official comment was made, many players are speculating that the change in the release date is due to the delayed release of Diablo 3, that is now said to be launching 3 months later than originally planned.
