The game was expected to launch in 2014 but a recent announcement from Ubisoft confirms fears that Tom Clancy's The Division is needed a 2015 launch title, but there's plenty of information to get exciting about as we anticipate the incredibly exciting debut of Tom Clancy on both next-gen consoles as well as current platforms.

A deadly pandemic has swept through the famous New York City. Civilians panicked and caused havoc, riots broken out and bought the city to its knees and one by one, the basic services of society began to collapse. It didn't take long for the last remnants of humanity to dissipate in the city as people began to run out of food and water, willing to kill to stay alive. A highly trained and classified unit of tactical agents have been activated to investigate the city. The Division are trained to operate above the law, above wrong and write, they are the people you call when hope has been lost.

Players will find themselves not only fighting for survival against the hostile inhabitants that remain in New York City. There's an epic conspiracy that promises a story-supported background promising to enthrall at every attempt. Through your efforts as a member of The Division you'll discover that all of this undoing was caused by a manmade virus. The people you're trying to help want you dead, the virus is taking it's toll, will you survive?
