Looking for the opportunity to battle on small or large scale maps while controlling tanks, helicopters and planes? Then War Rock is the game you are looking for. War Rock is a 3D FPS (first-person shooter) with a modern combat theme. It was published in North America and Europe by Gamers First and it was released back in 2004.

The game features a unique ability to play five different types of soldiers:

Engineer – the engineer is responsible with keeping vehicles up and running.

Medic – the medic can restore the health of his allies or himself with the help of a special injection.

Sniper – this type of soldier is deadly from distance, armed with a powerful scope. It has a slow rate of fire.

Assault – assault troops are the primary offensive units in War Rock, armed with assault rifles and grenades.

Heavy-Trooper – these soldiers carry land mines and a rocket launcher. They are anti-vehicle specialists.

War Rock offers three game modes: Close Quarter Combat, Battle Group, and Urban Ops. In Close Quarter Combat Mode teams will need to hunt and kill each member of the opposing team in order to win. The other two modes are quite similar to each other, the only difference being the number of players that can participate and the size of the map. The goal in these two modes is to reduce the ticket points of the opposite team by killing its members or by holding strategic points.

War Rock, unfortunately, has a big flaw, like many other online games with a micro-transaction system: monthly subscribers can purchase powerful weapons from the cash-shop which can greatly unbalance the gameplay. Also premium players have access to a larger number of maps.

War Rock isn’t the brightest shooter game out there, but it offers a challenging gameplay experience.
