Sword Girls Online is an anime inspired browser based tactical card game that allows you to construct a deck of magical cards and battle it out with other players. The game offers you the choice of selecting from 4 unique starter packs Vita, Academy, Crux, and Darklore. Each starter pack consists of Character, Follower and Spell cards, all of which have their own uses and effects.

The main aim of Sword Girls Online is to increase the power of your deck, you can do this in several ways. You can participate in dungeons and play against NPC characters to unlock more cards, or you can trade them with other players. You can also find a large number of ingredients during your travels, these ingredients can be combined to create unique cards. The other option is to use in-game currency which you can use to either purchase single cards or booster packs from the shop.

The combat works in similar ways to popular CCG games such as Yugioh and Pokemon, you begin each turn with 5 cards in your hand and can choose to place them on the field although you're limited based on the size of the card. Each turn is based on 3 phases, Start, Main and Battle, with each offering unique actions. Players can place their Follower and Spell cards during the Start Phase and then choose what actions they want those cards to do during the Main Phase. The Battle Phase then begins, with each card taking it in turn to act. To win a battle the player must destroy the oppositions main Character Card be reducing it to 0 health.

The game is currently in Open Beta although they have stressed that they may have to limit the slots at some point. Sword Girls Online is free to play and will continue to offer the same revenue model once it launches.
