Moshi Monsters is a 2D browser based game that allows players to adopt virtual monsters, play through mini-games and puzzles, customize their monsters and furnish and decorate their homes. The game was published by Min Candy Ltd. and was released in 2008.

Players are able to choose from six types of monsters which are: Katsuma, Diavlo, Furi, Zommer, Poppet, and Luvli. After choosing their monster the player can customize them by changing their color (Premium players have a larger pallet of colors to use.) As the players enter the Monstro City they are instructed with the basic controls of the game and at the end of the tutorial they are rewarded with a starter kit consisting of some furniture and a piece of cake. Playing mini-games in Monstro City will make monsters gain experience and level up.

Monsters are free to play, but a monthly subscription is required in order to access the full potential of Moshi Monsters. With a fee players can unlock game zones and more in-depth appearance customization options.

Moshi Monsters strands out as a simple, child friendly MMO which allows players to play puzzle games perfect for developing young children’s minds. Unfortunately the game offers a limited number of environments and mini-games.
