Monkey Quest is a colorfully animated MMORPG published and developed by Nickelodeon. The game is aimed primarily at a younger audience, as is normal for Nickelodeon products, but the game does offer some nice features and mechanics that would appeal to many gamers.

Monkey Quest is an action based MMO title that utilizes the arrow keys for movement and space-bar for jumping, this makes the controls easy to pick up and allows younger players to get to better grips with what they're meant to be doing. Unlike traditional MMO games, Monkey Quest offers far more freedom of movement. Players are able to jump and swing on vines, bounce off of drums, or use familiar jungle animals to traverse treacherous landscape objects.

There's also a crafting option for players that don't want to pay for all their gear. You must first collect a recipe, these can be bought, found on monsters or traded with NPCs, and then you must find the relevant ingredients. Ingredients come in many shapes and sizes and can be obtained all over the world of Ook, once you have the recipe and ingredients you're free to create your item anywhere in the game world, you're not forced to use any equipment or return to a certain area to craft.

Monkey Quest offers players over 35 unique areas to explore, these come in the forms of trails. Although the majority are linear and offer a simple start-end approach, the theme of each zone varies greatly. Players can expect to swing through tall trees in the Jungle, bounce over giant mushrooms in Mushroom Hollow, or dodge scary looking spiders in The Spider Cave. This large assortment of areas means players have plenty of choice when they choose where to quest and the large social hubs make it very simple for players to find parties and groups.
