Metin 2 is an oriental martial arts themed free to play MMORPG from popular gaming hub, Gameforge. The game offers the player the choice of playing 4 different classes including Warrior, Ninja, Shaman and Sura. These follow the typical MMORPG archetypes but with an Asian martial arts twist, allowing players to wield famous eastern weaponry like Fans and Chinese Bells.

Metin 2 offers an extensive PvP system that consists of both Guild PvP mechanics and open world PvP mechanics. The open world PvP is based on Kingdom VS Kingdom combat, after you create a character you have to choose to align with a kingdom, you are then automatically considered an enemy to the other two kingdoms. The kingdoms each feature in a fully real time domination mechanic that allows kingdoms to capture various territories for extra resources and equipment.

Guilds are the second focus of PvP combat in Metin 2, as guilds partake in battles they accumulate points that eventually allow them to challenge for a regional stronghold. If a guild is skilled enough to control a stronghold, their members are rewarded with special items and equipment. A guild that can equip its members with these items will prove far stronger in the open world battlefield which also offers their kingdom a great advantage over its enemies.

The PvE in Metin 2 is also quite unique, boasting special A.I behaviors and attack tactics that you won't find in many MMORPG titles. Monsters are smart and will attack you in groups or even congregate around a certain area to block your path, making even the daily grind fights a bit of a challenge. The combat system itself is also quite unique as it requires the player to strike each blow with a click of the mouse, instead of the usual auto-attack approach. This allows skilled players to position themselves to attack many enemies with just one blow, adding an obvious skill element to both PvE and PvP.
