Heroes of Might and Magic: Kingdoms is a 2D browser-based strategy MMO game developed and published by Ubisoft. The game is inspired and based on the Might and Magic franchise. It was released in November 2009.

The game focuses on the battle going on between the four factions featured in the game. The player will have to choose from these four factions (Heaven, Academy, Necropolis and Inferno), each having its own strengths and weaknesses, its own unique units and buildings.

After the players choose their names and their first hero, they begin with a small city which they must build and upgrade. In order to gather resources (gold, lumber, ore and sulfur) players must battle the NPCs located around their city. Battles require a strong army and a strong hero to command.

In PvP combat, players must take in account their units weaknesses and strengths – ranger units have superiority against infantry, infantry bests cavalry which in turn bests ranged units. Therefore players must carefully plan their attacks or build up a strong defense, strategizing and balancing the unit numbers in order to prevent great losses or total defeat.

An army requires a hero to command it. A hero can be hired for a moderate sum and trained in three different carriers or classes which offer bonuses for the city or for the army at hand.

Unfortunately, Heroes of Might and Magic: Kingdoms is a very slow paced game, like any other browser game, resulting in limited interaction between players. Even so the gameplay is amazingly rewarding and the in-depth need to strategize in order to achieve victory makes Heroes of Might and Magic: Kingdoms a game worth playing.
