Football Superstars offers a unique specialization system that allows players to specialize in certain aspects of soccer. This is done by using a highly diverse stat based system where players can choose which stats they increase. Stats are increased by spending in-game currency at the gym, choosing different pieces of high-tech equipment to upgrade different stats. Using this system players are able to strengthen their defensive or offensive abilities, or try to maintain a balance of both.

The most exciting aspect to Football Superstars is the highly competitive community. Players are able to form their own soccer club called PMC's (Player Managed Clubs). These work in a similar way to guilds found in other popular MMO games, like-minded players group up with the hopes of becoming the best soccer team in the world. There are various competitions, both official and unofficial, that teams are able to sign up to, creating an endless list of intense PvP games featuring leagues, cups and knockout tournaments.

There are a large variety of items for players to purchase in Football Superstars, each of which can benefit certain aspects of your character. The available slot locations include jersey, boots, shin-pads, studs and energy drinks. Each gear slot has various items that can be used, allowing players to further specialize their character by choosing items that compliment their stats.
