Dungeon Fighter Online is a side-scrolling action game that offers a unique beat 'em up style of game-play mixed with console popular 2D graphics and animations. The game offers a total of 7 classes, all with various skills and abilities and up to 4 sub classes. As you complete dungeons and win PvP battles, your character gains experience which allows you to unlock new abilities and improve the power of older abilities as well as increasing your base statistics. Once you're strong enough your able to branch out and unlock more skills in a sub class of your choice.

The Dungeons take a unique approach to rewarding players based on their skills rather than just being able to beat one particular boss. As you progress through the dungeon you can build your Combo Rate by performing special combo's and linking attacks, the higher your Combo Rate, the better rating you'll get at the end of the dungeon. A high rating unlocks a higher level version of the dungeon as well as offering better rewards, this system means that skilled players will quite often excel compared to the average gamer.

The items in Dungeon Fighter Online allow for a good amount of customization options, various items can be disassembled and combined to create more unique and powerful items via the crafting system and you can also collect rare avatar items that will drastically effect the appearance of your character. Pets are also available by collecting Creature items, you have to treat them well and feed them to keep them loyal and in return they will assist you in dungeons and some can even evolve into stronger creatures.
