Eudemons Online is a free-to-play 2.5D MMO developed by TQ Digital Entertainment. It differs from the Chinese style of the company’s previous success, Conquer Online. Eudemons Online’s background is set in a west mythical world, called Yartland. Players can command their heroes to venture across the vast land of Yart and challenge monsters and other players with the power of sword and magic.

Since its release in 2006, this game has won its reputation on the international market. It currently has been translated into a total of 5 languages: available in English, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, Indonesian, Malay, and Thai. To keep the in-game community thriving and vibrant, the developer is constantly adding new features to the game. This year, TQ Digital Entertainment announced the game’s new expansion – The Divine Path with the preliminary release date set for May 8th.

Story

The theme of the expansion deals with well-known ancient Greek mythology. In the expansion, the Twelve Olympians will descend to the mortal world, and seek their chosen warriors among the top adventurers of Yartland. Players will be able to enter a completely new region called the Divine Realm to explore a mysterious divine world. In the Divine Realm, there will also be a new town, called the Elysium. In the divine city, adventurers will observe magnificent statues of the Twelve Olympians, receive a series of new quests and have a glimpse of stories behind these omniscient deities.

The Godship

The most appealing new feature of the Divine Path presents players with a new height of power to attain: the Godship. In the expansion, the adventurers will have a chance to be bestowed with the astonishing power from the deities, which is beyond any capability of mere human beings. To gain this god-like power, adventurers have to garner recognition from the Twelve Olympians by passing their gritty test called the Apotheosis. The Apotheosis ritual is located on the holy Hirus Mountains with 5 shrines guarded by divine servants. To access the ritual spot, adventurers must defeat those servants and pass the 5 shrines within the 1 hour time.

When the challengers successfully arrive at the ritual spot on the top of Hirus Mountains, they are allowed to choose their Godship. There are 4 types of Godship, representing the different characteristics of the Twelve Olympians: Passion, Valor, Wisdom and Loyalty. Adventurers are allowed to obtain only one Godship in their lifetime.

The Godship does not simply equate to combat skills. It allows players to perform various community interactions. The Passion Godship can make players become the envoy of love, spreading romantic thought across the community. The Valor Godship can be utter monkey business, like turning someone annoying into a donkey or a doggy. With the Wisdom Godship, you can award other adventurers with extra experience, or even invincibility in battle. The Loyalty Godship can enhance the bond between you and your eudemons. Meanwhile, the Godship will help adventurers to learn different XP skills according to their class. With this divine XP skill, you can wreck havoc upon your opponents.

Divine Level

After the Apotheosis, the adventurers will obtain a new attribute, the Divine Level, which will contribute to their Battle Power. In the Eudemons Online, the prowess of a character is not determined by its level, but by the unique Battle Power system. Players’ Battle Power is calculated based on their level, gear, eudemons and even social relationship. The Battle Power has a critical impact on your character’s performance in combat with monsters or other players. This can determine whether you win or lose, fight or flee.

The exclusive Divine Level attribute will make those apotheosized characters have higher Battle Power and overwhelm ordinary counterparts in a PvP. To upgrade the Divine Level, players have to gain Divine EXP from killing rare monsters, fulfilling quests or using special items in the divine realm.

Divine Eudemons

As the core feature of the game, the Eudemon system is also reinforced in the expansion. In the world of EO, players can raise and train various pets called Eudemons. These loyal creatures will always accompany you during an adventure, and fight alongside you as well as add attack and defenses.

In the expansion, a brand-new type of eudemon will be introduced – the Divine Eudemons. The developer has unveiled 4 original divine eudemons. For pre-existing eudemons, they can evolve into divine eudemons alongside their masters in the Apotheosis. Compared to ordinary eudemons, these divine ones possess extra attributes – Valor, Spirit and Wisdom. Valor is the main attribute while Spirit and Wisdom are sub-attributes. These attributes work together to determine the quality and potential of the divine eudemon.

Conclusion

The Divine Path will provide players with a new region, new quests and new skills. It will not only enhance the game’s core content – the PvP, but also stimulate the in-game community by providing more social functions. Besides these previously mentioned new features, the developer is also adding some new customization elements, such as new garments and new mounts. With the new content, the Divine Path will refresh the game for EO’s vast current userbase and attract more players to join in the fabulous adventure.
