RuneScape’s RuneLabs Set To Introduce Player Content
Award-winning development studio Jagex recently announced that the second wave of community voted content will soon arrive as the world of RuneScape continues to celebrate the huge success of the new RuneLabs incentive. The new RuneLabs system was launched back in January of this year and has since seen over 35,000 ideas submitted by the community and a staggering response of nearly 290,000 votes casting opinions over these ideas. The RuneLabs feature was implemented to allow the community members to put forward ideas based on specific requirements and then allow other players to vote on the ideas they enjoy the most.“We’ve been overwhelmed with the quality and range of concepts that our players have put forward.” said David Osborne, design director of RuneScape. “We’ve seen small quality of life hotfixes suggested, quests with elaborate storylines and brand new skills such as Necromancy and Sailing. The community has always been at the forefront of everything we do, but now RuneLabs gives them a much greater voice in the developmental process. “
He continued. “It’s taken a while to process all the suggestions, but now we’re starting to see the first results of the votes which were cast at the beginning of the year. As RuneLabs continues to grow, we’re hoping to see bigger and better ideas which will allow the players to shape greater areas of the game that they love.”The next stage of deployment will see a brand new set of Dragon, Rune and Adamant gear arrive in the game later this week.
