Monster Hunter Online Enters Closed Beta
Tencent Games have just announced that their eagerly anticipated action MMORPG, Monster Hunter Online, will be entering closed beta on June 28th. Despite holding a positive presence in the West in recent years the explosion of Wii U sales after the release of Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate has drastically increased the interest here in the West. Sadly we've not had any official confirmation on whether or not the game will release in the US and EU with the current build looking to launch the CBT exclusively in China. The nature of Eastern MMO games means we won't be seeing Monster Hunter Online here any time soon, even if there are plans for a Western release. The long and painstaking task of localizing the game can take many months of tweaking and even with the huge levels of interest surrounding the franchise at the moment, it's unlikely that the West will see a release in 2013. We may have to wait until later in the year for an official announcement regarding the Western release but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the latest information on the game.
