Heroes Of The Storm Implements Silence Penalty
MOBA players are no stranger to the toxic communities that surround the ground-breaking genre and Blizzard have recently announced a new incentive that's aimed at reducing toxic like behavior in their award-winning free-to-play MOBA, Heroes of the Storm. The new incentive is the Silence Penalty system, a new system that will see players punished for breaking the rules and harassing other Heroes of the Storm players. The Silence Penalty will take effect if a player is reported for abusive chat on a repetitive basis. They will not be able to communicate in any in-game, general or custom chat channels and will not be able to whisper anyone except those already on their friends list. The Silence Penalty has a 24-hour duration and each subsequent penalty will double in duration from that point forward. There is no maximum amount of time a player can be silenced. Other players will be made aware of the Silence Penalty thanks to a special orange speech bubble next to the player's name in game.
