Guild Wars 2 Beta Sign Ups Explode
NCsoft have just announced that the Guild Wars 2 beta sign ups outdid all expectations and collected over one million unique accounts in a little over 48 hours. The Guild Wars 2 closed beta sign ups opened last Wednesday, and with players only given 48 hours to sign up, nobody was sure how popular it would be. GW2 is easily one of the most anticipated MMORPG releases for 2012 and with these kind of numbers, it’s not hard to see why.
ArenaNet have yet to announce the exact date and build for the closed beta but with the release quickly approaching, we don’t think they’ll take much longer. We expect the closed beta to run for approximately 2 months before they open the doors for an open beta. When asked about the release date, ArenaNet responded with “When it’s finished. Guild Wars 2 is the largest project ArenaNet has ever undertaken, and we want to make sure we take the time to do it right.”
