Ex-Mythic Dev Pleas To Restore Warhammer Online In Offline State
Some of us may have already said our goodbyes to the once treasured MMO, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, but there’s a tiny ray of hope shining through all the gloom following the pleas of an ex-Mythic Entertainment developer. Andrew Meggs, who was once the lead client engineer for Warhammer Online AoR, recently made a statement in which he asked Electronic Arts to restore Warhammer Online as an explorable but otherwise dead title. When asked to explain the concept he responded with:
“It’s a double-clickable museum exhibiting much of what WAR was, so it won’t be forgotten completely. It’s an effort by all of us, as developers, to preserve a living record as our transient medium is created and destroyed. I can’t do this; I left behind the code when I left EA. But there are people inside EA who can easily make this happen.”
Whether or not his pleas will be heard has yet to be seen but it’s an interesting concept nonetheless. Would you return to a dead MMO just to revisit the graphical aspects tied to certain memories?
