Dreamlords – What the future holds
Lockpick is no more, but three of the main developers remain to take the game further and they already have plans for new additions, check below.
Lockpick Entertainment is no more. This is probably easy to miss, as the servers for the game are up and running and everything (just about) is working.
We are few in number but strong in our gnosis. While we can’t give the support we want at the moment, we still do our best to answer your questions, handle non-moderator events and squish bugs in the client.
Let us introduce ourselves
Daniel Ribera Olsen
Community Manager and graphical artist. I have worked with Dreamlords since 2007, leading the graphical artists at Lockpick Entertainment and producing art for Dreamlords. I have also been involved in the major design decisions in the game (although stats and numbers not are my strength). After Lockpick was dissolved I took on the role as Community Manager, as well as graphical artist.
My desire to do cool stuff led me to accept the offer to make games with Lockpick sometime in 2004 and I became the owner of a tiny piece of the company in 2005. I’ve been a programmer on Dreamlords since the beginning , and I’ve also done some other more or less technical stuff like server administration and some tech support. I’ll continue to do technical stuff and I’ve mostly (by choice) kept away from most other sides of the game even if the underlying systems interest me a bit from time to time.
As the founder and former CEO and Executive Producer of Lockpick Entertainment David has been around from the start and been aboard on the rollercoaster rides the company and Dreamlords has been on since 2004. Today David is much like the Dreamer, all-knowing, omnipotent but absent he remains in the background and supports the Daniels in their new venture on getting Dreamlords back on track. Perhaps the efforts of the Daniels will cause enough turmoil to awaken the sleeping David and he will return to restore Lockpick to its former glory.

We want you to know who is maintaining the game and what we are going to do with it next. Yes, we are still developing Dreamlords and are plotting our true return to Elysion by re-launching the game!

Fight battles against the Nightmares of Elysion together with a friend from your CV! New special events/bosses for this is also planned.
For dedicated players, you will be able to create missions on your own which will (if they pass inspection) be a part of the Dreamlords experience. Will be available to the most dedicated players and moderators. Player generated content is finally coming to Dreamlords!

The rebalance will be very related to if we do a complete reset of the game or not. We are currently debating it internally and weighing pros vs cons. The pros are obvious with a totally leveled battlefield, and no baggage when it comes to rebalancing. The cons being as obvious with some players feeling robbed of their traits. In short it’s benefit the game vs benefit the old fans to be honest and brutal. We will create a poll to gather your feedback on the matter and we will take that into consideration.
