One of the most unique MMO projects of this generation, launching alongside an upcoming TV series, has already felt the impact of MMO launch problems. Defiance launched last week following a rather sketchy final beta weekend and disappointed players with a long list of launch day issues.
Although the patching error from previous testing was fixed one of the games most vital elements, the chat system, was not available for the first few days of launch. The developers were aware of the issue as it was reported in both the alpha and beta testing phases, but clearly it's not an easy job to fix. Thousands have complained but many others have also said it's a nice change. They can see and interact with other players in some ways, but the removal of chat stops spamming, horrible remarks, and other negative aspects of the MMO game world.
