Defiance Joining The Free-To-Play Market
Trion Worlds today announced that the online science-fiction MMORPG game, Defiance, will be joining the free-to-play MMO market next month. In the announcement the developers confirmed that they had planned to make Defiance a free-to-play MMO all along, upsetting some of the early supporters that paid up to $49.99 to gain access to the MMO. However, Trion Worlds have promised that they will deliver a variety of benefits so that early supporters of the game do not feel as if they've been misled. Today's regular Friday live stream for Defiance will have a special focus on the transition to the free-to-play market and Trick Dempsey will go into additional detail on the potential monetization options as well as the benefits they hope to deliver to current players. You can watch the stream beginning at 5PM EST on the official Twitch.TV channel. The PC version will go free-to-play on June 4th while PlayStation 3 players have to wait until July 15th. They have yet to confirm an official date for the Xbox 360.Leave a comment
