Bohemia Interactive today announced the immediate launch of the highly anticipated DayZ alpha client on the popular Steam platform. Players are now able to purchase access to the testing period via Valve's digital distribution platform for £19.99/$24.99, giving instant access to the game and all future updates and patches.
DayZ is currently missing many of its expected features including player constructions, usable vehicles, rag doll physics and the ability to support user mods, but these are all features expected to release over time in the coming year.
You can grab the new client on the Steam website but be sure to read through the page if you're not familiar with the alpha testing phase. The game does currently feature the ability to craft new items and equipment, as well as experiencing the thrill of the cut-throat world and atmosphere provided by DayZ.
