Cross-Server PvP And The City Of Steam: Arkadia 2.6.1 Update
Mechanist Games recently posted an update article including some incredibly exciting features for the upcoming 2.6.1 update for the increasingly popular steampunk free-to-play MMO, City of Steam: Arkadia. The developers tackle a number of hot topics of today including some exciting information on cross-server PvP, additional details on subscription, an improvement to quest tracking and more. We’ve been working on improving existing systems since version 2.5, Subscription, Quest Tracking, Tutorial, Electrum Shop, etc, and new content as well. The first round of cross-server PvP ended on Sunday and was enjoyed by all and the recently introduced Tower of Peril is living up to the hype as waves of mobs inhabit every level of the tower with epic rewards waiting for those that can brave the challenge. The developers also touched on other elements of the 2.6.1 update, highlighted below:In 2.6.1, we will overhaul the Crafting system; all functions inside it will be reworked and the new interface will be more friendly and easy to understand. Catalyst will be completely unnecessary in the new Crafting system but we are not simply removing it -all Catalysts will turn into something valuable instead. As the development and testing are not completed yet, the preview screenshots are pretty rough (but still can see the difference): In addition, 2.6.1 will introduce a new in-game currency called Bound Electrum which replaces the old Spiremarks, which still can be viewed on the Shop interface. It looks like Electrum and can be used in exactly the same way (purchasing items from the Electrum Shop, etc), but it’s Purple and bound to your character. Anything purchased with bound electrum is, you guessed it, bound. People with remaining catalysts after the upgrade will exchange them for Bound Electrum, which is a good trade.Check out some other exciting features in City of Steam: Arkadia.
