Mankind has been pushed to the edge of extinction after wiping Earth of almost all of the natural resources, but just as all appears doomed, a strange anomaly appeared in space, giving humans the ability to teleport to any known location in space. This allowed humans to gather resources from other planets and return them to Earth, but a much bigger discovery lied in wait, the discovery of an Earth-like planet. Filled with valuable resources and a new source of energy, the humans attempted to take control of this new planet only to be met with robotic resistance. Choose your role, present either side or sit in the background offering supplies in this sandbox, sci-fi themed MMORPG, Perpetuum.

One of the most exciting aspects to Perpetuum is the fact that the game is only available on one server, meaning every single action and message combines to create a players personal reputation. This is a unique system rarely seen in other free online RPG games, however EVE Online uses a similar system and with great success.

Another feature shared with EVE Online is the persistent leveling used in Perpetuum. Unlike other MMORPG games where players are forced to mindlessly grind on monsters or complete mundane quest, Perpetuum allows players to level even while they're offline. Players must choose a skill or ability to level, with each different skill requiring a different amount of time, but they continue to earn experience points online and offline.
