EVE Online is a pay to play MMORPG that boasts the largest in-game universe ever constructed. The game is filled with hundreds of planets and star systems and offers some of the most complex and in-depth mechanics available on the MMO market.
When you begin EVE Online you're given your very own Frigate-Class Starship, which is the foundations for growing your galactic empire. The beginning ship has a different appearance depending on the race you've chosen but they're all capable of performing the same basic tasks quite well, however, if you want to excel in any particular field, you'll want to upgrade your ship as soon as possible. This is where EVE Online truly stands out from its MMO competitors, players are not restricted to playing any type of vessel or archetype. You can choose to aim for a ship with a large carrying capacity, or maybe one that excels in combat, either way, players can choose to pilot any ships they wish and mold them for any purpose.
PvP combat is a large part of EVE Online, players are able to participate right from the start. When you being you're in a safe area known as 1.0 space, which is the safest place you can be, although you're still not immune to PvP. When inside 1.0 space NPC ships and other defensive objects will protect you from PvP'ers, as you progress deeper into space, and eventually reaching 0.0, PvP becomes free for all and there's nothing to protect you.
EVE Online is one of the few MMORPG titles that can truly boast a sandbox approach, allowing players to develop their characters and ships any way they please. You can spend your entire career mining and earning money or you can become a rogue pirate, patrolling the far corners of space in the hopes of attacking a large convoy of unprotected cargo ships.

Seriously dry game. Yah, you can level while not playing. But will put you to sleep.
EVE Online is probably the most cerebral MMO I’ve ever played, every choice you make has consequences in-game. EVE also has what I consider the most advanced and extensive economy ever in an MMO. Combat can be a bit slow between individual ships, but I’ve found it grows more exciting as you move into more powerful vessels. Finally, EVE can be exciting! My excursions into 0.0 space always get my blood rushing, knowing that at any moment someone could come out of warp and blow me away.ed
Steep learning curve some ppl can’t grasp it its far to massive for them but I for one love this game it blows just about any other mmo type game out of the water … and I couldn’t agree more with aen I think ccp does a great job of listening to there customers and taking it a direction that all wish to go in.. this is a very PVP based game and the dynamics of the universe are at the players whim… also a few things were said about eve in the dust514 blog if your interested (also a ccp game). Search eve online on youtube there’s some pretty good videos there…
