World of Tanks is a team-based MMORPG which takes place in a mid-20 century setting. The game features an advanced system of vehicle upgrades. The game was developed by Wargaming.net and released in Europe on April 12, 2011. World of Tanks promises a great PvP experience in which players are able to control fighting vehicles accurately detailed to match the ones used in 1930s and 1950s. Over 90 armored vehicles are available for use, all originating from the US, Germany and the Soviet Union.
Each new player starts the game driving either an American, German or Soviet light tank. As the player earns experience it has the possibility to develop and research new modifications which are used to upgrade the tank, enhancing its performance on the battlefield. The players will be able to customize to some extent their tanks with camouflage colors and patterns, slogans and clan emblems.
World of Tanks has a complex damage system which makes players take in consideration parameters such as armor thickness and the location of “soft stops” on the armor of the vehicle. Also any internal damage to the tank will require repairs and will affect the performance in battle.
The game offers three types of battles: random battles, team battles and clan battles. The primary mode of the game is Team Deathmatch which makes cooperation and team work necessary for obtaining victory.
World of Tanks has received good reviews and it holds a Guinness World Record in the category Most Players Online Simultaneously on one MMO server. With the historically accurate setting and the well detailed vehicles, World of Tanks is an MMOG that everyone should at least try.

This is not about how the experience ingame was. This is more about how does the service desk / moderators of there forums operate.
To be honest I have no words for it and no it is absolutely not because they are so awesome good. It’s the opposite of that…
When ever there is maintenance there are users crying etc etc. So I type a famous sentence from an Australian comic called Chopper Reid. I will not type this sentence in here because I do not know if it’s allowed on this forum. Instead of the F-word I mix the characters a bit and use that instead of the F-word. I receive a so called convo (email on and with forum support) that I am using swear words. I never typed the F-word as how it’s spelled.
I think to myself this is over reacted. So I reply to the “super moderator” and say that his actions make him nothing but a forum troll. Pats – BOEM – OINK I go from 3 days read-only access to 14 days of read-only access. A new reply from me explaining what I did and that the F-word mixed characters was used deliberately instead of the right notation of the F-word. That was not true was there opinion. It was swearing they said…
As you already understand I did not accept that.
The “super moderator” writes:”…you obey / follow our rules or your not the person we want in this game…”
I dare him to ban me. He/she/it invites somebody to the ‘convo’ after asking several times he/she/it finally admits he/she/it invited a superior admin (according to them head of customer service of WoT. I check out the person and it seems they are personal friends in the game. So there is reason enough to argument that his/her/it opinion is heavy biassed. They start to put the pressure on me that I will loose my account and won’t be able to play it. I should stop now or they have no choice to ban me.
Suddenly I see a big ray of golden light shine on my head and I receive a divine idea…
I start begging them for terminating my account / suspending it as they call it. The idea behind it is short and logical. I do not want to associate with WoT in any way nor for any reason.
WoT does not stand for World of Tanks; WoT means in my book Well over the Top.
Conclusion:
- WoT is very proud to be seen as a global game. It isn’t.
- WoT thinks that they can dictate everybody out there.
- WoT say they have a high and independent end-user desk that is end-user friendly. Believe me they are not.
I could go on and on about it but I reckon you all get my drift. For the ones that do not believe me I have the whole conversation / mail exchange. I can proof what I wrote.
People keep putting down W.O.T but they forget its still a closed beta game the official is out on April 12 with much more tanks more maps and more mods but overall the closed beta is real fun and is very creative and the open beta will be even better.
Note: On April 12 all accounts will be wiped so don’t register and download until April 12
Never played it yet but according to the snapshots it looks like its from some call of duty game.
I play this game on a regular basis. And i have to say, its alot of fun. My only concern HAS been the admins. I asked for a name change 3 days after i joined, they replied that “That is a feature only available to new players”. I reply “I AM a new player”. Two months later i get a reply “2 Months does not qualify as a new player” forgetting that piece of mail was dated 2 months ago. That upset me alot.
But that aside, the game is intense. You have to take the same things into account that you would on the battlefield. Your tanks exposure, the target your shooting, the thickness of his armor and the MM of your gun. If you hit the edge of a tank, the shell could ricochet or bounce off harmlessly. You have to aim for precise points. You can knock out their Commander, Driver, Gunner, Loader, Radio-man. You can destroy modules like gas tanks, tracks, turret controls, view finders, even the very gun if you like.
I could go on and on. But if you dont know your role, your gonna die. TD’s need to be well behind advanceing Heavy and Medium tanks, to offer support fire where needed. Artillery needs to keep in range of the forward advance, to take out enemy tanks fireing on all advanceing targets. Lighter and faster tanks need to be useing their speed to scout out enemy positions for the arty, as well. God i love this game
This game is not free to play. It is actually quite expensive. If you are not carefull you can pay a few hundred a mounth if you are seduced by the want factor, being I want all the tanks now.
You actually don’t get much out of this game except mindless repetition. Saying that, it is fun to play and the tanks are cool – that is why you want then, but it is the same game play over and over.
WOT knows this and is happy to milk you of all your money if you are not carefull. A premium tank will cost you about 50 bucks and then there is the cost to convert the experience to free experience so you can buy and upgrade tanks. This economic system to make money is very clever – so be warned.
There are better games out there. Stick to the ones where you buy a monthly subscription. Trust me, personal restraint in WOT is hard when they dangle the carrot in front of your face.
If you don’t believe me play it enjoy it and then lets talk about where all your money went.
this is a good game, i like it. worth a 5 hour download anyway xD
I would say it’s more rubbish now than a good game, during ATest the idea was awesome but than it all was spoiled and screwed.
And it’s honestly does NOT worth to download for 5 hours in a raw.

I started playing W.o.T. about 3 weeks ago. I am now an addict. Fave game on the net. Roll out…just do it!
