Wargame 1942 is a browser-based MMORTS game set during the middle of the second world war. The game includes many of the expected features included in other MMORTS titles, such as base building, resource management and unit training. The graphics are highly detailed and smooth, removing the typical square-styled graphics seen in other RTS titles.

When you begin your time in World War II, you're presented with a small base that will be the center of your operations. Inside this area you're able to construct various buildings such as a Command Center, a Barracks and a Hospital. Each building has its own unique effects and capabilities. When you select to construct a building, you must have the required resources, the building will then begin to build, usually taking anything from several minutes to a few hours. The game is great for casual players that don't have a lot of time to invest into MMORTS games, a lot of the actions take long amounts of time allowing you to log off without the fear of falling behind when compared with other players.

Wargame 1942 allows players to attack each-other with the hopes of destroying enemy strongholds and Command Centers. By doing so, the victor is rewarded with a number of resources and sometimes, even some of the units used by the enemy forces. Players can see how they compare to others by using the easy to access player ladder system that ranks players based on their overall performance in the game.

Although the game is free to play, players can choose to invest in a premium account or buy Diamonds at the item mall. Diamonds allows players to purchase special items in-game that provide huge bonuses such as an instant build and training effect, faster resource gathering and extra gold income per hour.
