Behold Torchlight, a fresh new action-RPG franchise developed by Runic Games. Based in Seattle, Runic Games is lead by a veteran team composed of designers and leads of projects like Diablo, Diablo II, Mythos and Fate. Torchlight combines the elements and mechanics from a large variety of dungeon crawling games and blends them together with in-depth character progression, high-quality graphics and some awesomely fun multiplayer.

Your adventure begins in the run-down mining town of Torchlight. A town that was created during the boom discovery of Ember veins in the area, a rare ore that has the power to corrupt or enchant anything it comes into contact with. Despite its dangerous qualities the miners ignored the warnings and decided to dig it up anyway, with catastrophic consequences to the surrounding areas. Explore mountains, forests and other nearby zones to gauge the full extent of the damage caused by the miners greed. As well as seeing the impact created in today's timeline, you'll also explore ruins of ancient races who's demise also came at the hand of the dreaded ore.

One of the most exciting aspects of Torchlight is the combat system. Unlike traditional RPG games that rely on damage and power, Torchlight has a heavy focus on tactic and skill. Players are given access to dozens of powerful abilities but only truly skilled individuals will be able to use those skills to maximum effect.

Although it boasts a great combat system and highly innovative multiplayer, the real gem within Torchlight is the dungeon crawling and loot system. Watch your enemies explode into a fiery ball of death as they drop a huge variety of different items. Use these items to increase the power of your character, change their appearance and even give them access to a larger variety of abilities.
