Steel Legions is a unique, free to play browser based MMORPG game that has a heavy focus on action-based combat and PvP. Unlike other browser based games, Steel Legions is fully 3D and compatible with the majority of modern browsers. The game is published and developed by the veteran browser team over at Splitscreen Studios, the same team that brought you other successful, innovative MMO games such as Dino Storm.

Unlike the traditional character and sword approach, Steel Legions puts players behind the wheel of a steam-driven tank. Players must first choose from 1 of 4 available empires, none of which really offer any huge difference other then the flag attached to your tank and tank appearance but they each represent teams in the PvP part of the game.

The combat is totally skilled based, with players being able to control the direction their tank is moving with the left mouse button, while choosing trajectory and location of their shots with the right mouse button. Players must learn to shoot ahead of fast targets to compensate, or shoot short for smaller targets in order to hit for maximum damage. Although the game is level based and offers rewards and items to improve your tank, the PvP has many auto balancing features that means players can compete against others that are a much higher level on an even playing field.

Steel Legions is mainly quest based, players must head to the Headquarters buildings to be assigned a quest. There are many varieties of quests, including the standard kill X amount quests, but also more detailed ones such as escort missions. Certain missions are purely NPC based while others offer PvP competition, with the winning side gaining the spoils.

The game is available for free, without any content or leveling restrictions, but there are item mall options for players that wish to purchase items to help them progress at a quicker rate.
