Arguably the most appealing aspect to Soul Captor is the Soul and Anima systems. Animas work in a similar way to pets in another free MMORPG games, aiding players in combat and progressing in level by earning experience points and completing quests. The Soul system is what really makes the pet system in Soul Captor unique. Every monster you encounter and defeat has a soul which is collected and placed into your Soulpedia. The souls of captured monsters can then be summoned to fight again, summoned to be used as a mount or even used as a mount for your pet Anima.

Soul Captor is home to both extensive PvE content and intense PvP battles, with both being supported by a highly versatile combat system. The most exciting aspect to the combat system in Soul Captor is the ability to combine attacks with your Anima and other players. If you use an ability in battle, your Anima or party members can then activate a separate ability that can combine with the first one, creating a unique power that causes devastating amounts of damage. This system is rarely seen in free MMORPG games but similar features can be found in Turbines hugely popular, Lord of the Rings Online.
