Set in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo, Shin Megami Tensei Imagine, also known as Megaten, is a pet based MMORPG title that is home to a massive variety of exciting features. Shin Megami Tensei Imagine is based on the critically acclaimed Megami Tensei series that has been impressing console fans across the globe since the early 90s. Shin Megami Tensei Imagine is the first online adaption of the highly popular franchise and is available as a free to play title on the Atlus gaming portal.

Similar to the consoles titles, the main focal point of Shin Megami Tensei Imagine is collecting and raising demonic pets. There's a huge variety of pets in the game, some of which are based on realistic models such as lions while others are far more fantastical such as a four-headed monster with 4 arms, each wielding a deadly saber. Collecting the demons is one of the most common activities in Shin Megami Tensei Imagine and players must learn to master the art of coercion and intimidation if they wish to recruit all of the demons. Each demon is unique in their own way, offering a distinct set of stats and abilities. Demons level separately to the main player character, allowing players to switch to other demons whenever they please.

Another feature borrowed from the console titles is the ability to merge and evolve demons. The Cathedral of Shadows gives players the opportunity to merge up to 3 of their demons, resulting in a single, more powerful demonic pet. There's dozen of possible combinations and some of the strongest demons in the game can only be obtained through use of the merging system.
