Similar to your player level, Units earn experience points while defeating enemies and completing quests, as long as you're using that particular unit. When Units reach 100% experience points for each level they gain unit skill and custom points. These can be used to increase your Unit's powers. A number of custom slots also become available so you can fully equip your Unit with the best gear possible.
