RuneScape is a browser MMORPG, with a fantasy thematic, implemented on the client-side in Java, incorporating 3D rendering. The game was developed and published by Jagex Games Studio, released in January 2001 by Andrew and Paul Gower.
RuneScape sets the players into the world of Gielinor in which they can battle different types of monsters, earning experience and gathering items that could help them in their future adventures. Players can customize their characters to some extent, tweaking features of their avatars such as hairstyle, face, clothing and so on. By not having a linear storyline the game offers the players the possibility to set their own goals and objectives. The players are instructed of the most basic skills and interactions into a tutorial scenario at the beginning of the game. Afterwards they are left to explore freely the world of RuneScape. 25 skills allow the player to perform various activities throughout the game in order to gain experience, in-game currency and materials for different uses.
RuneScape features a real-time combat system for both PVE and PVP encounters. PVP combat consists of mini-games that players choose to engage in. Players can go into an area called Wilderness, area in which they are able to fight, while in the Duel Arena players can stake money or items.
Players can interact with each other performing activities such as trading, chatting, collaborating in order to complete different quests and mini-games.
The game has about 10 million active accounts per month and over 156 million registered accounts. RuneScape is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s most popular free MMORPG.

I love this game. I have played this for 4-5 years and i haven’t gotten old of it. 10/10 for me.
This is an awsome game, it’s the best browser game I’ve ever played, and the only one i’ve found that’s 3d
To many hackers in this game. I had multiply accounts get jacked and now idk what happened to it the person changed everything. The worse thing is now your able to change you account name so my old accounts dont even have the same names any more and made it totaly impossible to ever recover my old accounts. Totally ruined the game for me.

uhh ok… runescape is an amazing game. ive played it for 5 years and it just doesn’t get old. the banning system is not strict. they clearly give you warning so don’t cry about it when you get suspended. you pick what graphics you want, customer support is awesome, community is full of fun loving gamers. the game took a bad turn around 2004-2009. but it has improved so much. the jagex crew as a very organized team that focuses on the things you want to know and hear. there aren’t a lot of hackers AT ALL, so i don’t know what that anthony kid was talking about. its his fault for having multiple account, he probably gave away his password cause hes stupid. and if you change your username you still log in as your original name, so anthony.. you just make no sense. overall. its an amazing game that everyone should try, i had my doubts but i’m totally hooked now. thanks jagex for making an amazing game. 10 OUT OF 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s so exciting with so many things to discover and learn about a strange new place called Gielinor (or Asgarnia if you wish)… It has really beautiful landscape and its characters aren’t ugly or crude like WOW. Which brings me to the point that this game is for girls (like myself) just as much as it is for boys. It’s really cute and things like Random Events are always mixing things up. It also love the holiday events every year.. and how he jagex moderators seem to have some strange cabbage fetish. I’ve been playing this game for about 4 years and it still hasn’t gotten old. I always seem to find myself consulting RuneScape wikia to learn more about it. The way that it ties in with real life yet is so complex and strange that it has an essence all its own fascinates me. It does take a lot of time to “learn the ropes” and get out of “noob-hood” but it’s so worth it. There are a lot of haters on RuneScape and a lot of complainers, but that sort of just makes the game fun. The mods and forums add to this humor that makes up the game. I love the happy, up-beat mood that always seems to surround this place. RuneScape is my home =)

I have been looking for a game like conquer online, the thing i love about conquer is you can mine for gold/gems and kill monsters for money to buy better weapons/armer. does anyone know a game you can mine,cut wood to build with,fish and stuff like that? im gonna try runescape and see if its the type of game ive been searching for.
couldnt find anyone to help me in runescape. seems pretty hard, couldnt find anything and graphics were horible
This game is one of the best ive played ive been playing for 5 years now me and my friends love it. it is a really addicting game to get in to. graphics are good you can chose to have good or better graphics you never run out of things to do. there are scammers and boters but you have to be stupid to fall for them.

Hm. I played this game from the early beta stages until 2010, and in all honesty, it’s a pathetic game. I know graphics do not make a game, and I always look past them, but my god, they’re terrible. You could argue and say that it’s because it’s Java, but the game could advance in Beta, so much.
The community is full of 12 year olds nowadays, and sadly, they all seem to be extremely immature. The gameplay itself also gets rather tedious… Click, wait, click, wait, look at exp, click, wait etcetc.
Best to stay away from this game, as you’ll spend years playing it only to realize you wasted all that time, just like I did.
Also, the recent updates really ruined the game. The G.E was the best thing to happen to the game due to the fact that a structured economy is better due to a lot of people being unsure about pricing etc.
It was really annoying with the recent refferendum as they put “bring back the no trade limit” and “old pvp” in one. It should have been three.
“Remove the trade limit”, “Remove the G.E” or “old pvp” then they wouldn’t have got scammers and pvpers alike wanting it back. It was so obviously fixed.
It’d be fine, if the G.E wasn’t so such a great money maker, but people obviously didn’t understand it, and wanted free trade back because of this.
It’s COMPLETELY ruined all shreds of what made the game good.

OK…where to start…I’ve played RS since it earlier days (Classic), and there are alot of pros and cons…
Pros: Tons of activities(both player-made and hosted), Tons of skills to train, Quests are innovative and NOT grind-based, No definite class system(which allows any character to train any skill, although choosing certain skills to train has its advantages), Tons of persistant dungeons and bosses, and much more…
Cons: Lack of quick and easy contact to the manufacturers(Jagex), Tons of botters and scammers(which can be easily avoided…), Lack of decent Instanced dungeons, and poorly constructed risk/reward factors(you will usually risk more doing something than what you will recieve as a pay-out). Some of this is not always the case, but for the most part these cons will make ppl detest RS.
In conclusion, RuneScape is fun and innovative, but the lack of TRUE group-oriented events and exp gains make leveling past 90+ in any skill a true grinding scenario. Also large amounts of bots make RuneScape slighty boring while “skilling”, as a bot is not prone to responding when you ask a question or give a statement. Scammers also flood the GE, asking for free money, or trying to take helpless young players for all they have worked so hard on. Jagex works hard to make RS fun for all player groups, but mostly the community is young kids and pre-teens(10-16 years), which makes it even harder to find truly skilled players. For the most part, I love playing RS, as it was my first MMO, and will probably be the last one I ever play. All I ask for is a more rewarding form of Instanced dungeons (not persistant, as RS owns the persistant dungeon status)instead of all that “Dungeoneering” BS. Hopefully this comment will help you to make a desicion on whether or not to play, as RS in not a bad MMO(is actually very good and enjoyable) but it is true that Jagex has alot of work to put into it before it can be a truly innovative and “stand-out” MMORPG. Anyone wishing to play RS and needs a helping hand, feel free to add me(Dboyleon), NickTheTool, or Brain Dergs and ask for help. We have a clan designed to help the needy and make everyone see how enjoyable RS can be.
Best game ever made. If you consider it bad because of graphics, you are just retarded. There are graphic options as well. I have played this game for years. If you think people are immature ignore it! If u can’t do that you’re immature youself. There is so much to do. Stop crying about free trade and the trade limit. Over 90 percent of people voted for them to return. It’s your fault for not helping against the cause if you didn’t want it. It’s how it should be. Next off, the og after you get only way to get hacked is if you ever gave out any info, was keylogged, or was a retard and logged into a fake site. its definitely the best free mmorpg out there. Haters can hate. It’s their own fault they got hacked or didn’t fight for what they wanted. There are forums you know. It’s how a million people want it right now. Explain why 100kplus people are on 24/7. I can even find fun in the game when I’m nonmember. There is plenty of skills. A lot of time goes into this game. If you have a problem with it, not everything is how you want it. Its why they have polls. Majority rules. In my opinion free trade is how it should be. I you get scammed its your fault for being dumb.
10 for 10 when you play it play safe and smart
You are 110% correct free trade gives you an apporitunity of freedom and the ge is only hard because you dont know how to price and really dumn if you can’t figure it out. If your reading this and you just found about runescape i would give it a chance the graphics are amazing because of the graphic options you never lagg it fits every kind of computer.
I’ve been playing this game off and on since around 6 months after its original release, back in 2001. The amount of time that I’ve been playing this game, should say enough on its own about the quality, and enjoyability of it. Runescape is by far the most dynamic and fun of all free browser-based MMORPG. The paid members version makes it even better. Any other broswer-based MMORPG that wants to compete with Runescape, has their work cut out for them. This game has a bit of everything, so there is something for everyone. Even if you’re not big on combat there is a lot more that this game has to offer.
runescape is an exelent game and the people who are saying bad comments are probably lying to get attention on this site because all the bad revies are about 6 lines long! runescape has good (amazing) graphics and is fun for any age its safe theres the profanity filter if you want to make it even safer so go to runescape now. The 1 and only downfall of runescape is the
noob-age (lvls 3-60) which is where you have to earn money the hard way and not have many friends. My combat lvl is 67 however so i would know what its like in the noob-age so just join my clan im there 8/6 (8 hours a day and 6 days per week) so feel happy to join!
overall result 9 and 3 quarters out of ten!
runescape is an excellent game ive been playing for over 4 years now and runescape has gotten alot better from before so no complains about its graphics or anything so if u want to add me its cool u know my rs username just add me and then tell me from were do u know me or that u say my comment and u want to be friends with me and flamin my combat lvl is 88 lol but 87 in free users.
