Rise of Immortals is the latest free to play title in the increasingly popular MOBA genre, based on similar mechanics to the original DotA mod. The game features a large selection of playable characters, called Immortals, with a current list of 15 and more planned for release every month. Each of the 15 available Immortals have unique skill trees, allowing players that have a high Persistent level to increase the base abilities and stats of their favorite Immortals.

The game features 3 different leveling types, Persistent, Tactical and Veterancy. The Persistent level is quite fresh to the genre, as you play more games you earn experience points which allows you to equip more artifacts and spend more talent points. Persistent level doesn't reset at the end of each match and is individual to each Immortal, meaning a player that spends many games playing as a single Immortal, can grow that Immortal to be far superior to the same one used by other players. The Tactical leveling is the familiar in-game leveling for MOBA titles, as you kill enemy Immortals, buildings and creeps, you earn more tactical points which allows you to increase the power of your Immortal for that particular game.

There are 2 modes available, PvP and PvE. PvP is the most popular game mode where 2-5 players battle it out for control of an instanced battle map. Each map has 2 main bases and several control points, players attempt to defeat the opposing team by taking out their base defenses until they eventually destroy it. The PvE content is a great way to practice with Immortals, learning their strengths and weaknesses and fine tuning your builds. Although you don't get much experience you can earn various rewards and accomplishments for completing PvE scenarios.

Rise Of Immortals also introduces an Avatar-based area where players can socialize, form groups and discuss tactics. This is a first for the genre and feels very similar to a questing hub in typical MMORPG games.
