Based during an alternate 16th century background, Renaissance Heroes is a free to play online shooter that boasts a large selection of maps, various game modes, dozens of weapons and some great graphics thanks to the popular Unreal Engine. The game is currently in a closed beta so not all features have been announced but there's still plenty of exciting information available. Renaissance Heroes includes 4 playable characters, each of which have their own sets of skills and abilities, as well as detailed information on the characters background.

One of the most unique aspects of Renaissance Heroes are the maps, featuring historical locations based on various realistic locations and fantasy settings, offering one of the most unique MMOFPS settings available in a MMO game. Renaissance Heroes currently includes eight maps such as the iconic Leonardo da Vinci's workshops and the Sultan's palace in Constantinople. More maps will be included at launch but details have yet to be released.

Supporting the eight maps in Renaissance Heroes are 3 distinct game modes. Players can participate in free for all matches, team vs. team battles and intense 1v1 duels. There are also various modifications available for each game mode such as weapon restrictions and speed variations. One of the most popular modifications is Melee-only with hyper speed, providing a uniquely intense experience based around movement ability and twitch skills. For players wishing to brush up on their abilities, there's an AI mode with various difficulties of bots available.

Other features in Renaissance Heroes include daily quests, over 100 unique achievements and a unique Rage Mode. Rage Mode can be activated at certain times during a game and gives your character a powerful buff that increases your combat stats and survivability.
