RaiderZ is the latest free to play MMORPG from industry veterans, Perfect World Entertainment, the same developers that bought you Rusty Hearts and Battle of Immortals. The game is already released in China but Perfect World Entertainment has just launched the closed beta for the US and European versions.

The game has been compared to the popular Monster Hunter console titles, the game features an expansive game world with many different types of terrains and maps. The world of Rendel has been overrun by huge monsters that threaten the very existence of the races that inhabit it, and you, are given the task of clearing them out. The game doesn't force you into a typical class archetype, players are able to select from a variety of skills and abilities from a number of classes, while never being forced to dedicate to any one particular role.

One of the most appealing aspects to RaiderZ is that everything is real-time which makes it feel more like a polished console title than an MMO. The combat is all based on skill and timing, instead of mashing hot-keys over and over. Timing your ability right can be the difference between life and death and the same goes for your enemies. When you're fighting monsters and beasts, you don't just use your sword and spells, you can actually sever parts of your enemies body in two and then use that to beat them to death. A lot of the abilities interact with the environment and monsters also, meaning players can be grabbed and tossed into the air, or thrown against a rock or tree for extra damage.

The crafting system is also quite exciting, rather than simply farming nodes and gathering ore, players can actually tear the ingredients and materials they need, right from a living monster. Want to make a set of armor with Giant Leather? Find a Giant and rip his arms off, providing plenty of skin to change into leather.
