My Lands is a free to play, military based MMORTS title that includes all the basic RTS features such as base building, unit and resource management and player relations.

The most unique aspect about the game is the fact that you can actually earn money while playing it. Like most MMORTS games My Lands features a micro transaction system that uses Black Gems as the currency. Players that sign up and choose the optional subscription package are able to collect/farm and mine Black Gems and then withdraw them as real cash. Another juicy aspect to this system is that you can actually steal or plunder Black Gems from other players, making castle sieges and PvP fights really intense.

As you would expect in a RTS game, base building is a common activity and the game features over 35 unique buildings. Each building has a different effect or use and all can be upgraded to improve that ability using various resources and materials. Players can choose to increase the speed at which buildings are built and improved but they most do so at the cost of military units, allocating more builders to a project increases the speed greatly but it means they cannot be trained as soldiers or used to defend your town.

Science and research play a large part, players can choose to build a number of science based buildings, all of which can research specific improvements for your buildings or upgrades for your military units. The effects vary greatly but some of the options include upgrading houses to include resource storage, adding the option of improving multiple buildings at once or upgrading your Mission Control Center which allows you to partake in more missions at the same time.

The game is available to play for free but players that wish to take advantage of the real money feature must subscribe.
