Heroes of Might and Magic Online is a 3D fantasy MMORPG from TQ Digital. It was published by NetDragon Websoft Inc. and released in 2008. The game mixes turn-based combat with city and unit management. The gridded maps, on which battles take place, give the game a unique feel. The graphics are outdated, but even so the game has gained a large audience.

The player will have the possibility to choose from eight races and sixteen classes, but can only have one character per server. There is no actually character creation, the only customizable feature being the hairstyle. One of the first features available in the game is the player’s castle. The castle management doesn’t play a major role in the gameplay, but the player will still need to build and upgrade it in order to train new troops.

PVE involves simple questing, gathering and bringing certain items or killing certain enemies. The game has ten “chapters” with over a dozen scenarios which can be played out solo or with a group and replayed in multiple difficulties. The PVP system consists only of duels and arena battles.

Despite translation problems, repetitive gameplay and dated graphics Heroes of Might and Magic Online makes up for a varied game with a large pool of classes, cooperative PvE content and expansive PvP options.
