Heroes In The Sky is a free to play, World War II based aerial combat game from Games Campus. The game puts players into the role of a WWII pilot, fighting the pivotal battles that helped shape the outcome of one of the longest running wars in history.
Heroes In The Sky is played in a typical 3rd person setting, with the player taking direct control of one of dozens of planes available in the game. Each aircraft is separated into 4 unique categories, Fighter, Bomber, Gunner and Premium, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Another nice feature is the use of Aircraft Avatars, which is similar to cosmetic systems used in other popular MMORPG games. A player may be flying a MK II Spitfire but using the Aircraft Avatar system they can choose to cloak their ship and have the physical appearance of another aircraft, not only allowing players to choose what they think looks best, but to also be able to throw off the opposition, making them prepare for a Fighter Plane when it's actually a Bomber that is approaching their stronghold.
Heroes In The Sky offers a variety of game modes to appeal to all players, with everything from PvE to PvP available. You can choose to fight a famous battle from WWII, alone or with friends, and attempt to destroy enemy installations, attack civilians that have aligned with the enemy or even perform a bombing run on a fleet of enemy ships. Other available game modes include PvP Dog Fights, which can feature up to 16 players, and the highly popular Occupational War Mode. Occupational War is a real-time recreation of WWII, where the actions and victories of players has a direct impact on where the next big fight will take place finally resulting in one side winning the war, rewarding players with some nice benefits for their troubles.
