Hero Online is an oriental martial arts MMORPG developed and published by NetGames. The twelve dragons have been resurrected, the world is in turmoil and is in desperate need of a hero, it is up to you to fill this role.

The game features 4 playable classes Warrior, Hunter, Physician and Assassin, with each class following a typical MMORPG archetype. Once players have chosen a class and joined a guild (House), they get to pledge their allegiance to one of the waring factions, Zhuang and Shao. Faction wars happen on a weekly basis with players battling it out for control of territories and vital buffs, once a player has chosen a faction, they cannot change.

Hero Online boasts a unique story system that allows players to alter their own destiny by choosing different paths during the main quest. The story and scenarios are written by critically acclaimed martial arts author, Kum Kang. The story is complex and features plenty of plot twists, surprising players at every turn.

The game also includes an in-depth pet system consisting of 3 types of pets. The main pets, Combat Pets, aid players in combat with extra skills and abilities, these pets also level up alongside the hero unlocking more skills and even changing in appearance. Another pet type is Mount, these pets won't aid you in combat but you can mount them for faster travel, these pets don't level or change appearance but are vital in order to level up quickly. The final pets are known as Avoid Pets, these pets don't aid you in combat or allow you to mount them, in fact, they actually run away if attacked. These pets are just there to look good. Each pet has a loyalty level that must be kept above 0 by feeding them, if a pet falls to 0 loyalty they will leave and the player will no longer be able to use them.
