Hellbreed is a dungeon crawling, action based, free to play browser title by popular gaming hub, Gameforge, publishers of Ikariam and BattleKnight. The game boasts high quality graphics for a browser title and advertises as having over 150 custom-made zones to explore and more than 250 unique monsters to battle.

Hellbreed feels very diablo-esque, with a similar top down view and on-screen item system, players familiar with the dungeon crawling genre will feel right at home. The game lets you choose from 3 unique classes which are Huntress, Warrior and Siege Master. Each class has unique abilities and equipment variations allowing for the player to choose a character that best suits their play style. Each class can also use the Companion system which is similar to most combat based pet systems in other online titles. They come in various shapes and sizes, from realistic animals such as bears and eagles to fantasy based characters like a meteor or a walking pyre. They can aid you in battle, using attacks and abilities on the monsters but they're unable to heal you or revive you should you die.

The game has a heavy focus on combat and looting, approaching both with action and speed. The combat is very fast in a hack and slash style, allowing the player to dispatch of enemies quickly, grab loot and move on. Rare to the browser-based genre is the ability to play Co-op mode with other players. Unlike other dungeon crawling browser games, Hellbreed offers you the same content, loot and activities alone as it does if you're playing with a partner. This adds to the immersion level in the game, a game with a heavy focus on loot and items is far more appealing when you can boast to people about obtaining them.
